Costs

Which costs are covered by health insurance?

Basic health insurance usually does not cover the cost of orthodontic treatment. Exceptions are made for specific diagnoses such as extremely misaligned teeth when the tooth or jaw misalignment meets a certain threshold value.
However, many insurance plans offer supplementary insurance that cover 50% to 90% of the costs.

Which costs are covered by disability insurance?

In the case of congenital defects, disability insurance will cover the costs of orthodontic treatment for people up to 20 years of age. Clearly defined criteria determine whether the costs can be covered. A specialised orthodontist will check these criteria for every patient before beginning treatment.

Tariff point value

The tariff point value for orthodontic treatment at our practice is CHF 1.00. Each treatment is assigned a certain number of tariff points in accordance with the SSO’s tariff regulations (Dentotar). To determine the cost of treatment, these points are multiplied by the tariff point value. Payment in instalments is available on request.
