I grew up with three siblings in rural Schötz in the canton of Lucerne. After attending baccalaureate school in Willisau and Sursee, I completed my studies of dental medicine in Bern from 1995 to 2001. From the beginning, I was drawn to working with children and adolescents, which is why I became interested in orthodontics early on. For 10 years, I worked in general clinics and orthodontic practices (with Dr Johannes Grossen in Langenthal and Dr Andreas Gasser in Lyss), acquiring a large amount of practical knowledge along the way. From 2012 to 2016, I did a specialisation programme for orthodontics at the University of Geneva. After completing my orthodontics specialisation, my family and I moved from Geneva to Lyss in the summer of 2017. Since then I have been working part-time as a senior physician at the University of Geneva’s dental clinic and at the orthodontic practice of Dr Nicole Hunziker in Fribourg. Since September 2019, I have been fortunate enough to be near my family, running the Lyssbachpark Orthodontics practice together with practice co-founder Dr Schütz.

If I can find the time alongside my numerous career and family duties (I have two boys: Florian, born in 2010, and Julien, born in 2016), I can be found cycling and skiing (mostly ski touring) in the mountains and enjoying the water in summertime. It is wonderful to spend time with my family on bike tours, travelling or in our lovely garden in Lyss (for quieter moments).
